SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- When it comes to helping companies, Garnet River does just about everything.

"Whether it's a business problem, a technology problem, something related to actual staffing and human resources, we cover it all," said Garnet River's Director of Marketing, Greg Magin.

The Saratoga Springs tech company opened in 2000, and works with companies around the country as well as some New York state agencies. Magin described Garnet River as a problem solver.

"We use technology and our knowledge of technology to help you solve business problems," he said.

With around 50 employees, Garnet River focuses on three main business units; Consulting, technology, and human resources. However, 16 years after it was started, Magin said the company has had to adjust in a big way.

"Where we are right now came about because we were influenced by what our clients were telling us," Magin said. "Their needs drove this evolution."

Magin is also involved in a program call Tech Exec, a monthly meeting of Saratoga tech professionals. Magin said the group's main goal of the meeting is to improve the tech community.

"There's no selling. It's just 'let's talk about a challenge I'm having,' or 'let's talk about where I might be able to find funding for my next adventure,' " he added.

Magin said by bringing together top tech executives from around the Spa City, they're able to network and help grow the tech sector in the area. It's also an opportunity for Garnet River to see where technology is heading because as they've learned, it will keep changing.

"Rather than hunker down and think we know it all, we let the people who are actually doing the work tell us what the need is and we try and adapt," said Magin.

Magin said they will keep adapting because there are more business problems that need solving.
