One of the two brothers accused of collecting explosive materials inside a Bronx apartment was denied bail and home detention Wednesday.

The judge overturned the application, calling Christian Toro, who is awaiting trial on federal terrorism charges, a danger to the community.

Prosecutors said the former teacher at Harlem Prep High School, which is part of the Democracy Prep Public Schools system, paid students to break open fireworks and store gun powder at the Pelham Bay home he shared with his brother, Tyler.

FBI agents said they uncovered 30 pounds of explosive chemicals during a raid there last week.

Prosecutors said the brothers were stockpiling explosive ingredients.

Christian Toro was also arrested in January for raping a minor under the age of 17. He is facing separate state charges for that.

A bail hearing has not been set for his brother Tyler Toro.
