Some residents on Staten Island who evacuated from their homes because of a retaining wall collapse in their backyards returned home to find that they had been burglarized.
Residents of the Waterview homes were allowed to quickly get essential items out of their homes last week, one week after the retaining wall collapsed after the nor'easter.
Police say at least three of the homes were broken into Friday night. Burglars were able to cut through a fence and make off with big screen TVs and other expensive items.
Police say the investigation into the robberies is ongoing.
