The Senate confirmed Loretta Lynch to a second stint as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

Nominated by President Barack Obama in February, Lynch, seen above left, was confirmed along with four other U.S. attorneys.

Lynch's appointment marks her return to the job, which she previously held from 1999 to 2001.

The Eastern District includes Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Long Island.

The Senate also confirmed New York Federal Judge Denny Chin, above right, to the U.S. Court of Appeals. The Chinese immigrant has presided over a long list of notable cases, including Bernard Madoff's trial.
