The driver accused of hitting two senior citizens on Staten Island and fleeing the scene has been released on $50,000 bail.
Allmir Lekperic was arraigned in Brooklyn court Friday morning for leaving the scene of the accident and driving with a suspended license.
Police say Lekperic was traveling westbound on New Dorp Lane Wednesday night when he hit 78-year-old Peter Sabados and his 77-year-old wife, Lillian, as they crossed the street toward their church.
The two later died at Staten Island University Hospital.
Meanwhile, service arrangements for the Sabados' will be held over the next few days.
Viewings of the Staten Island couple will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Hanley Funeral Home in New Dorp.
The funeral is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Sabados' parish, Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, followed by burial services in Pleasant Plains' Ressurection Cemetery.
