The city will honor the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants in a big way Tuesday with a parade up the Canyon of Heroes. NY1's Roger Clark filed the following report.

The city treated the Giants to a parade up the Canyon of Heroes four years ago after they knocked off New England in Super Bowl XLII. And on Tuesday they'll do it all again.

"I'm close by so I'll be right here," said one proud Giants fan.

"I'd love to make the parade, it will be huge," said another.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. at Battery Place and Washington Street and makes its way up Broadway to Worth Street.

At 1 p.m. there will be a ceremony at City Hall Plaza, where Mayor Michael Bloomberg will be presenting the Giants with keys to the city.

Some Giants fans who spoke with NY1 said they will be at the parade no matter what, even if it means getting a little creative with their place of employment.

"If anything I'll just take a personal day or, I work right down here so I can always catch half a day and go to work for the rest of the day, some way or another I can work it out," said one Downtown worker.

"Hopefully I catch part of the parade, I hope so," said another.

Since ticker-tape is no longer used in the Financial District, the Downtown Alliance is bagging and distributing 2,000 pounds of recycled paper to distribute to more than 20 buildings along the parade route.

"At least we'll have some shredded paper and people won't throw out other things like toilet paper and telephone books," said Joe Timpone of the Downtown Alliance.

For those who want to get a great view of the parade, Timpone suggests getting an early start.

"I would suggest they be here by 8 a.m. for an 11 o'clock start if you really want a good spot," he said.

And don't be surprised if the Big Blue faithful are out even earlier for the big celebration.

Transit Alert

Beginning at 10 a.m. trains will not stop at the following stations to avoid overcrowding in and around the parade route : Wall St 4 or 5; City Hall R; Chambers St A or C; World Trade Center E; or Fulton St 4, 5, A or C.

The MTA suggests parade goers take the following trains:

• 1 to South Ferry
• 2 or 3 to Wall St or Fulton St
• 4, 5 or 6 to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall
• J to Chambers St
• R to Rector St
