The State Assembly honored T-shirt vendor Lance Orton with a standing ovation Thursday.

The Vietnam War veteran is credited with being the first to alert police about the suspicious SUV that Faisal Shahzad confessed to leaving in Times Square on May 1.

"The way I was raised, the type of person I am, in the training I got, says if something's wrong, so something," said Orton.

Orton and fellow vendor Duane Jackson have also been honored at City Hall and by the Mets at Citi Field and have met with both Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Governor David Paterson.
