NY1 highlights the coolest and newest apps for your cell phone or mobile device in the twice-weekly segment “App Wrap.” NY1’s Adam Balkin filed the following report. Helpful Romantic
Every app store for every device is offering up dozens of ways to make celebrating Valentine's Day easier, from sending virtual cards to preparing the perfect meal. There are also a bunch for any device that help even the most clueless significant others figure out how to make the day special.
"Helpful Romantic," for example, allows users to plug in information about the kind of person the loved one is, her or her habits and likes and then how much effort and money one is willing to put into the gift.
The app then offers up a list of ideas. Oftentimes they are gifts one can buy but with a personal twist, like a box of chocolates that can be altered by adding a sweet message under each actual sweet.
"Helpful Romantic" is right now an iOS-only app for 99 cents. A simple search will find others like it for other devices, and some are some free.
Fingle
If your date on Valentines Day is a first date, "Fingle" can serve as a great ice breaker. It's kind of like "Twister" for your fingers. Each player grabs the solid boxes and drags them to the dotted ones and holds them there until the screen lights completely.
The beauty of this is it is bound to force a bit of hand-to-hand contact which can help speed up any inevitable chemistry. On top of the game, the music helps set, let's say, a "sensual" mood.
"Fingle" is right now an iPad app for 99 cents.
