ArtCrawl Harlem honors the centennial of Romare Bearden's birth with a guided tour of his art.
Travel inside a trolley to six galleries and museums in Harlem to view Bearden's paintings and collages and learn about his style and his legacy as one of Americas most treasured artists.
“Romy captured the African American spirit and soulfulness in the language of the visual arts. He captured the spiritual, he captured the very notion of who we are and our joy and our sorrow in his visual presentation,” says Russell Goings of the Romare Bearden Foundation.
The four-hour tour takes place this Saturday at noon. Tickets are $55, and they include dinner and a live performance.

Check out the large scale sculptures of Brazilian pop artist Romero britto at the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle. Britto's brightly colored pieces are celebrated for their uncanny ability to make audiences smile. The exhibit is open until October 31.
