A mother is in police custody after she allegedly abducted her biological infant son during a supervised visit in Manhattan on Tuesday.

Police say Marina Lopez took her biological son, Mario Danner Jr., from an Administration for Children's Services facility in Harlem around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The 7-month-old child was taken to the hospital for a checkup as a precaution.

Lopez is charged with custodial interference.

Police say they found Mario after receiving a tip following an amber alert sent out to many cellphones in the city.

If you own a smartphone, chances are the alert about the missing boy woke you up Wednesday morning before 4 a.m.

That's because officials believed he was in imminent danger, and his case met the criteria for a wireless amber alert.

All cellphones manufactured after 2011 are automatically set to receive alerts like the one about Mario. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
