A city firefighter is under arrest for allegedly attacking and robbing an off-duty police officer in Queens.

Angel Valerio faces multiple charges, including attempted robbery and assault.

The attack allegedly happened just before midnight Sunday.

Sources say the attack took place outside a TGI Fridays in Forest Hills.

Sources say Valerio and several others were leaving the restaurant when they had a verbal dispute with an unnamed officer.

One of the men punched the officer, according to sources.

Sources say the officer chased down the man who punched him and allegedly tried to call 911 and make an arrest.

That's when sources say he was assaulted and his backpack was stolen.

Police are still looking for the other men involved.

The FDNY says it has suspended Valerio for the maximum allowed period of 30 days. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
