Police are looking for the person they say physically assaulted a 10-year-old girl in Brooklyn.
Authorities say it happened Thursday morning along East 108th Street in Canarsie.
Sources tell NY1 the girl was grabbed off the street and brought to a nearby rooftop where she was beaten.
The girl managed to escape, making it to the top floor where she began knocking on doors.
Police say she was hit in the head and suffered a head wound.
It's unclear how serious her injuries are, but police say she was in stable condition when she was taken to the hospital.
"All I hear is somebody yelling for 'Help, help, help!' We don't know who it was," said one resident. "So she was banging on the door, and then she run around the corner, and she was banging on the door."
"By the time I opened the door, she [was] already down the stairs," said another resident. "So I ran over to that window, where I could see outside the building, to see what was going on, and then I saw her talking to the workers that work for housing."
No motive is known at this time and no arrests have been made.
