A city man is awaiting arraignment today in connection with a groping incident in Sunset Park, Brooklyn earlier this week.

Adolfo Martinez, 26, was arrested on Tuesday and faces sexual abuse and forcible touching charges.

Investigators say he groped an 18-year-old woman as she left the subway Monday night.

Police are trying to determine whether Martinez is one of the men behind a dozen similar attacks in the area since March.

Women who spoke with NY1 in the neighborhood say they are being extra careful.

"I feel really safe in this neighborhood and I always have. I have lived here for like three years. I walk home late and I just try to be aware of my surroundings and not have my iPod on or not be on my cell phone, just be more aware. But I do hope they do something about that guy," said one Brooklyn resident.

"If someone's following me too close, I cross the street," said another.

A Park Slope gym is also offering free self-defense classes as a way to help women in the community.

Meanwhile, police have released a sketch of the man who groped a woman Sunday on Vanderbilt Street in Windsor Terrace.

He is described as being 20 to 25 years old, about 5-feet-4-inches tall with a medium build and a mole on the left side of his neck.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, by texting TIP577 to CRIMES, or by going to NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
