A second arrest has been made in the alleged assault of a 13-year-old Muslim girl on Staten Island.

Krystal Callender, 13, an IS 49 student, is charged with assault as a hate crime and robbery.

Investigators say Callender and Osman Daramy, 12, assaulted the victim, also an IS 49 student, over the past several weeks.

They say in one incident, Callender and Daramy asked if she was a Muslim and tried to pull off her head scarf.

Investigators say the victim was also called a terrorist.

Callender is expected to be appear in family court Tuesday.

Daramy remains in custody.

If convicted of the most serious charges against them, both could be placed in a juvenile facility until their 18th birthday.

The Department of Education says Callender also faces disciplinary action.
