The New York Times Close Up

On the May 12th edition of The New York Times Close Up, Sam Roberts talks with Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and historian Robert Caro about the larger-than-life Majority Leader, Vice President, and President Lyndon Johnson, the subject of the latest volume of his chronicle, "The Passage of Power: The Years of Lyndon Johnson."

Times Chief Drama Critic Ben Brantley discusses which new Broadway plays were successful in their transitions from off-Broadway or out of town, the subject of an article in the special Tonys edition of the Arts and Leisure section.

The Times first Public Editor, Daniel Okrent, talks about his production of "Old Jews Telling Jokes" and its transition from videos, to a book, to off-Broadway, accompanied by Marilyn Sokol, one of the snow's stars.

And the weekly Times Reporters Roundtable convenes.
